Free Excel alternative with formulas, in your browser

PaperSheets is the spreadsheet of the Oxyde suite. It has a familiar grid and the formulas people use every day, and it opens in the browser without an account.

Formulas, formatting and sorting

The formula bar understands SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, COUNT, IF, IFERROR, COUNTIF, SUMIF and ROUND, text functions such as LEFT and CONCAT, and more. You can format numbers, colours and borders, sort a column, and freeze rows so the header stays visible while you scroll through a long table.

The grid and the keyboard shortcuts are similar to a desktop spreadsheet, so you do not have to learn everything again.

Open your .xlsx and .csv files

Open a .xlsx or a .csv file from Workspace and keep working on it, then download the sheet as .csv. That makes PaperSheets handy for quick budgets, price lists, class registers, schedules and simple data cleaning. Charts, merged cells and conditional formatting are not available yet, so for those you will still need a desktop program.

Data that stays on your device

Your sheets are saved in your browser and are not uploaded to a server. You do not sign in, you are not limited by a daily quota, and you can work offline once the page is loaded. Since the data lives in the browser, remember to download a .csv copy of the sheets you cannot afford to lose.

Supported formats

  • Open: .xlsx, .csv
  • Download: .csv
